The main route for entering St Ives is the A3074 road from the A30 into St Ives through Lelant and Carbis Bay. There is an alternative route into St Ives from Lelant Saltings via Halsetown.

Bus

There are frequent bus services which run from the centre of the town to Penzance, Truro, Lands End & Helston. The main bus station is located adjacent to the railway station within the town, a matter of a few minutes walk from the town.

Rail

Penwith is at the end of the Great Western mainline. There are 5 train operating companies serving Penwith; First Great Western, Virgin, Wessex Trains, Arriva Trains Wales and South West Trains. The nearest mainline station for St Ives is St Erth. The St Ives branch line has stations at St Erth (interchange with mainline), Lelant Saltings (Park & Ride), Lelant Village, Carbis Bay and St Ives

Coach

Long distance scheduled coach services within the County and beyond are operated as commercial concerns by National Express.
Air

Air Southwest offer daily services to Newquay airport from London Stanstead, London Gatwick, Bristol, Dublin, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Cork. The car journey from Newquay to St Ives takes approximately 40 minutes.
